The conference venue is situation in the heart of Oxford.  There will be time to explore the grounds and meadows of Christ Church College and to walk in the footsteps of Lewis Carol, Inspector Morse and Harry Potter.

Apart from the Christ Church and the many other Colleges some nearby attractions include:

The Ashmolean Museum, which has recently re-opened after a major restoration and expansion, contains an impressive collections from Classical, Egyptian and Minoan civilizations.

The Museum of the History of Science, contains antique astrolabes, microscopes, chemistry equipment...

The University Museum, is a spectacular Victorian gothic construction containing the Natural History collection.

The Pitt Rivers Museum (accessed through the University Museum) contains thematically arranged ethnographic and archeological collections of everything from umbrellas to shrunken heads- definitely worth a visit!

The Botanical Gardens are a good place to wander around, if the weather is fine, if not…

… you could investigate Oxford’s claim to the highest ratio of pubs per capita in the UK.
